Creative Industries Unlocked- Animation and gaming with Aardman

Aardman’s Dan Efergan and Neil Pymer led a fantastic and very interactive workshop as part of the  Creative Industries Unlocked programme

Hosted at the Engine Shed, the diverse group of 16-17 year olds from across Bristol,  arrived for this highly anticipated session to find a variety of making materials including modelling clay, pipe cleaners and lego available which they subsequently put to good use!

The workshop took the attendees through a creative storytelling process including a breakdown of the storyline, character, props and action in a well-known classic tale, the attendees were then asked to create their own version using the materials provided to show a snapshot of their idea.

Sprinkled with some magical Aardman film footage including previous projects, this workshop was fast-paced, engaging, amusing and thoroughly enjoyable for all, everyone was fully immersed in the activities being undertaken.

This was the third session of six from the Creative Industries Unlocked programme led by widening participation’s Faculty of Arts Engagement Team and supported by MyWorld.  We are incredibly grateful to Aardman Animations for designing and delivering such a brilliant session which was so well received by attendees.
