How can the creative technology sector better prepare, support and welcome the next generation of talent?

Making the World Differently is a new report by artist and educator Frazer Meakin, produced with support from MyWorld. Drawing on ten months of research as a MyWorld Fellow, Frazer worked directly with young people, schools and industry across Bristol to explore the skills, experiences and training opportunities young people need to pursue careers in creative technologies.

The research included workshops with young people and schools, work experience programmes at Watershed’s Pervasive Media Studio, and interviews with teachers, careers leads and industry professionals. The findings are also informed by wider research from organisations including the World Economic Forum, DCMS and the Gatsby Charitable Foundation.

This research was co-commissioned by Watershed in partnership with MyWorld and the University of Bristol. It aims to inform work connecting education, industry and young people, while sharing insights that can help the wider sector develop more accessible and effective pathways into creative technology careers.

Read Making the World Differently to explore the findings and consider what the sector can do to support the next generation of creative technology talent.
