Planning permission secured for our new hub in Temple Quarter

Date: Oct 15, 2021

MyWorld has reached an important milestone as planning permission has been secured for its new home based at the University of Bristol’s Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus, which will be shared by Bristol Digital Futures Institute.

Two former industrial buildings are to be converted into a new creative hub for its state-of-the-art and world-leading research facilities. MyWorld will create a unique blend of production and R&D facilities for creative technologies which will be used by our partners and research collaborators.

The new hub will include a 150m² instrumented auditorium, allowing researchers and the public to test new digital content and co-develop new technology. There will be a 250m² research and development studio space equipped with virtual production, volumetric capture, and motion capture arrays. It will also house production standard audio and visual edit suites.

This facility will enable the region’s creative sector and technology organisations to collaborate and connect regionally, nationally, and globally.

When fully complete in early 2023, the creative hub made up of workspaces, collaboration areas, training, and meeting rooms will be occupied by up to 250 people.
