MyWorld is proud that the region’s strength in media production has been recognised by our international partners Netflix, who credit the South West of England as a “creative powerhouse”. A recent BBC news article states that Bridgerton, Our Planet and Robin Robin (an upcoming animation from MyWorld partners, Aardman Animations) have helped contribute more than £132m to the South West economy.

Netflix helped generate over £1.5m for Bath’s economy alone by showcasing the city’s beautiful scenery in the drama series Bridgerton.

“It is good to see Netflix and other production companies investing in our fantastic region bringing high-skilled jobs”, stated West of England mayor Dan Norris.

In addition to this, in the near future, Aardman Animations will be collaborating with Netflix to deliver professional development for those in the sector, and will include outreach to schools, free animation courses and trainee places on Netflix Aardman productions.
