In- Camera Visual Effects (ICVFX) Unreal to LED volume virtual production training
Dates and Times:
The online course elements will be delivered simultaneously between instructors in Los Angeles, and participants in New York and the West of England on the following days:

Specific timings are still to be 100% finalised but likely to be 1600 > 2100/2200 UK time. Online sessions will be recorded for review, so participants will be able to catch up if unavailable for a particular class. The day on the Pytch LED volume in Bristol will follow shortly after the online course, date TBC (provisionally 4th Nov)
This free, hybrid ICVFX training course will examine the technical foundations of setting up and executing an LED wall and its corresponding workflow for virtual production.
The course will comprise of approximately 60 hours of training delivered by four experienced Unreal Engine instructors, predominantly live-online lectures followed by a day of in-person demonstrations on Pytch’s LED volume in Bristol with Lux MC experts.
What will you get out of the training course?
The course will focus on workflow/pipeline, nDisplay, switchboard, camera configuration, nodal point calibration, lens calibration, asset optimization, specific ICVFX tools and blueprints and stage operations. At course completion, participants should understand:
· Basic hardware requirements and signal flow necessary to set up a LED volume
· How to use the primary tools within Unreal Engine to configure nDisplay, Switchboard, Source Control and transact content to a LED wall
· How to perform key stage operating procedures, including camera nodal point calibration, timecode and genlock setup, lens calibration, and camera tracking and wall calibrations
· Ways to optimize content for the best performance in a LED volume
All participants are required to have a solid understanding of Unreal Engine and its core concepts. To fully participate in the course, you will need a fast Internet connection and access to a machine capable of running Unreal Engine 5.
